SEPTEMBER SHOPPINGS & SOME RAMBLINGS

Monday, October 1, 2012

So as you guys seen from my last post it's been a busy couple of weeks for me!  In addition to baby being extra needy I also could not shake some stuff out of my head!  Since Emma is turning 9 months old soon, I been bombarded with people asking and commenting about when I'm having my next baby.  In all honesty I'm not sure I want to have another, but when you tell this to some they immediately try to guilt you into thinking how horrible it is to be an only child.  After having such a difficult pregnancy and NICU stay, I'm not sure I have it in me to possibly do it again.  Plus now I have to think of Emma too.  If I have issues again, who will take care of her while I'm in the hospital?  What if the next baby requires a NICU stay?  How do you juggle taking care of a toddler and spend all your time in the NICU taking care of your newborn?  I feel very thankful for Emma and how wonderfully everything turned out to be, but I don't know if I will ever take the chance again.   Anyhow this past weekend I was home the whole time comforting my cranky baby.   The only way I could get her to sleep is holding her all bundled up and cozy.  While she spent napping in my lap, I did a little shopping on my iPhone.  Multitasking you know :)  September has been such a busy month for me, that I have not shopped a whole lot!  But this past weekend some of my favorite stores had some awesome deals and I went ahead and splurged a bit.  LOFT had 40% off everything & GAP / Banana Republic had 35% off for cardholders!  Yippeee!  You will notice that I've gotten lots of tunics and longer tees (I bought them in tall to make them more tunicky) because one of my favorite casual outfits is leggings/skinny pants with tunics and boots!  I also splurged on a new wool coat from Banana Republic.  I was so excited to see a tweed trench, since I'm not a huge fan of plain black coats. I can see this coat lasting me a long time, it's such a classic look.  I was also super excited about those LOFT Chevron Print Ponte Leggings! Imagine all the possibilities with those!   Here is what I purchased:

GAP Pink Circle Sweater (I  purchased the tall size)
GAP Contrast Stripe Tee  (Also in tall!)
GAP Grey Polka Dot Tee  (Also in tall)

  1. I love the look of Tunics and leggins/skinny pants too!! I never thought of ordering tops in Tall to make them more tunicky. I was just wondering how tall you were. I'm about 5'5" and I don't want to order them in tall and them be too long. Thanks!

P.S. -- I love your blog!! But, I totally understand about needing to cut back and focus on your adorable baby and work.

  3. I always hate it when people give me that weird look when I say my daughter might be an only child. Do what works for you and your family. I love all your weekend shopping finds by the way!

  4. It has taken me four years to get to the point where I am ready to think about another pregnancy. Honestly it is only because my little guy is in preschool and pretty independent. Although my kiddo came out healthy, I had a rough pregnancy and the thought of trying to do that with someone so dependent on me was really scary. Take your own time and you'll know if/when it is time for another one. :) Hope little Emma is feeling better soon.

  5. Ugh! Yeah we've been married for over 2 years and of course everyone is asking when we're having a baby. Well what if we decide not for a long time or what if never?!! You have to do what is best for you!

  6. Sorry about the pressure of having another...try not to let it get to you too much. We had a hard time getting pregnant with our first & I remember people being so rude about us not having a baby yet. It's too bad people do this kind of thing.:( Anyway, on to your purchases...love them all!! Can't wait to see the tweed coat on, it's lovely!!
