GAP PLAID DRESS SHIRT & LINK UP

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Did this week fly by or what? I certainly hope things slow down a bit soon, feels like week after week if flying by! It's crazy that my sweet baby girl will be 1 year old in about a month and a half! I have to start planning a little family / close friends party for her birthday. I have lots of ideas in my head and you can all believe me when I say it involves lots of pink! :) Today's outfit pictures are not the best, had to lighten up the pictures a bit to be able to see the pattern of my dress shirt. This was on of the items I purchased during the GAP friends and family sale. Like I said before I was very surprised at how much I liked the way this dress fit, even though it's a bit darker then the colors I normally like to wear! Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and don't forget to LINK UP below! (PS. I will be posting a bunch of Express coupon codes along with my recommendations Saturday morning, so if you are in the hunt for one, make sure you check back! )

GAP HI LOW TEE, STRIPED SCARF & LINKUP

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Had a great day yesterday with the family and today I'm trying to loose the 10lbs I must have gained eating... I really went to town with desserts! Sweets are my weakness!  This is when loose tees come in handy.   The shirt I'm wearing today is from the GAP, one of my favorites from my fall wishlist!  I bought it in tall so it's longer, and I do like the extra lenght.     We're heading to parade in the AM (that outfit is not worth posting!) and then later we're heading to Lowe's to get stuff for one of our bathroom's we're in process of remodeling and Sears to purchase an Elliptical machine.   It's getting a bit too cold to run outside!  I'm not too excited about braving the madness out there, but husband wants to get the deals.  Hopefully those stores are not the "hot" spots though!  Good luck to all of you that brave out today! Don't forget to link up below!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and get to spend it with your loved ones.   This year I have so  much to be thankful for.   I think back to last year and so much has happened, it's been an unexpected whirlwind of a year. Between bed-rest all sorta scares with the babe it's been a rough year.  I'm so super thankful for having a good team of doctors who recognized early that something was wrong and ensured that my Emma was delivered safely.   I'm also thankful for the wonderful nurses of the NICU.  Have you guys ever seen those NICU nurses in action???  I have never in my life met people that cared so much, and were so great at dealing with those tiny babies. So amazing what they can do.  (My Emma was about 2.5 lb's at birth, one of the smaller but def. not the smallest there!)  I'm thankful for having a very supportive family, especially my mom who has helped us so much over this past year.  She brought me Dunkin Donuts almost every morning in the hospital (if you had an extended stay at the hospital the food gets old pretty quick!) , babysits whenever we need her and all around simply the most amazing mom EVER.  Thankful for my husband and mom driving me to the hospital for those 2 weeks after my C section that I could not drive myself.   Thankful for my friends who spent countless hours with me at the hospital to try to help me get thru bed-rest and not knowing what's going to happen phase. My best friend went shopping for preemie clothes once we knew I was gone have a tiny munchkin.   Thankful for my job and bosses for being so flexible with me this past year, I know not everyone is that lucky.  Thankful for my husband putting up with my bit of shopping addiction.  Wow it's overwhelming to think how much I have to be thankful for.   And I'm most thankful for the amazing healthy  little girl we were blessed with, who now has taken over my beloved iPhone.   Have a wonderful day, eat lots of good food and hopefully you all have the chance to reflect on all the good things in your lives.

What? You want this back??

GAP MEN HOLIDAY PICKS...

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

So here are my picks for Christmas for my husband and brother.  My husband been in need of a nice coat for a while, but he never spends any money on clothes.  (he wears a uniform to work, so he doesn't really need much).  I like the style of that coat, manly but stylish.   I also love the Sherpa hoodie and bought my husband and my brother each one.  It's the warmest sweater EVER. Just a word of warning that you should size up in these Sherpa lined sweaters from the GAP. I bought one for my husband last year in XXL, and it fit him perfect even though he's normally an XL.   I love my GAP hoodies.   Is it cheesy that I really want to take some family pics of us all wearing our GAP hoodies?  Ok. You guys don't really have to answer that, I think I may know.   And finally a nice striped sweater for my man for when we go out, which happens maybe once a month even if that.  We're both homebodies and we both work a lot of hours, and with the baby we usually are just too tired!   I also got him a nice Starbucks travel mug, for his coffee!

LOFT SPARKLY STRIPE TEE & BRIGHT PANTS

Monday, November 19, 2012

It's Monday, but today I don't mind! I have this whole week off! So excited. Today's outfit is pretty simple. A natural stripe top with bright bottoms, a pretty much no way to fail pairing. I could have thrown on just about any colored jeans, and it would have looked good. Love the sparkly details on this tee, and I was lucky enough to snag it up at the LOFT at 40% off. (they went and grabbed it for me from the back!)

LOFT NOVEMBER WISHLIST...

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Here are the items on my LOFT wishlist! Hoping that I will be able to snag them up once the LOFT savings cards start in a few weeks!  Except for the necklace & leopard neck-warmer, might have to get those before since they're on clearance and extra 50% off right now!   I absolutely love the bow tee! So cute.  Plus the Peter Pan collar cardigan is totally on trend.  I've been looking for something with the Peter Pan collar, but did not find anything I liked till this pretty cardi!

LOFT FRIENDS & FAMILIY PURCHASES

Saturday, November 17, 2012

As promised here are the items I picked up this past weekend at the LOFT 40% off Friends & Family sale!  I also got Savings cards which will come in handy when I will purchase the items on my wishlist! Hopefully they won't sell out till then.  Check back tomorrow to see what's on my LOFT wishlist!   The stripe tee I got lucky with, I asked the sales associate at the store if they had it, and they did, but it was still in the back!  But she was nice enough to grab one for me, so I was able to snag a brand new arrival at 40% off! Wahoooo!   The scarf was also an unexpected purchase, but it's so pretty in person you guys!  Has lots of sparkly treads and just a really pretty color!  Did you guys buy anything at the Friends & Family sale?

Well I hope you guys have a fab weekend, I have a post scheduled for tomorrow morning detailing my LOFT Friends & Family 40% off purchases, and Sunday will post the remaining items from the LOFT on my wishlist! LOFT BURNT RED FLOWY TOP & LEOPARD FLATS

I can't believe it's almost time for the holidays! Thanksgiving is in a week, it will be Emma's first one! I took next week off from work, since we already have Thursday and Friday off, I only had to take 3 days off to get the whole week off! I have not had a whole lot of time off since my maternity leave back in February so this will be nice! I have a long list of things to accomplish so I'm hoping I'm not going stress myself out too much! Today's outfit is another item I picked up at the LOFT last weekend with the 40% Friends & Family sale. This item has been online for a while, but never really caught my eye. But I saw it in-store and it's soft and flowy. I decided to try it on in a size M, and I really liked the over-sized look (normally wear an XS in LOFT). Also the color is really pretty in person, and I think it's a universally flattering color that most people could pull off.   Added my favorite Lucky Brand leopard flats for a little pop of unexpected.

GAP FRIENDS & FAMILY PURCHASES

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Here is a few (way too many) things I picked up at the GAP sale.  In addition I also got a few of the things that were on my wishlist HERE.    (from the last list I ordered the Dolman Tee in Grey & Fuchsia,  the Red Puffer Vest, The Black Plaid Flannel Shirt). I got the GAP Heart Tee back when I posted it originally since I was afraid it would sell out!   I also got a few things for my husband and brother for Christmas which I will post sometimes next week!  Neither read the blog so it's OK :). And of course had to get a few cute little things for Miss Emma.  The flannel shirt dress I didn't like when I saw it online, but looks super cute on!  Even though it's a bit darker in color than what I normally wear I love it!   The polka dot jeans are way cool!  Not only does it have polka dots but it sparkles!! Needless to say I think I'm done shopping for a while.  Giving my LOFT and GAP card a little vacation.   This weekend I will post what I got at the LOFT!

GAP COLORBLOCK STRIPE SWEATER

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

This past weekend I went to BabiesRus since they had a $25 off two boxes of diaper coupon, and it ended up being cheaper than any other store or even online.  Right next to the baby stuff store is a nice outside mall that houses some of my favorite stores, and since it was a gorgeous day I went for a little walk with Miss Emma.   Of course GAP was having 30% off everything and LOFT was having 40% off everything, so I picked up a few things!  This sweater was perfect. Super-warm, but has no itchy wool!  Love the contrasting neon pink and navy stripes!  I got lucky too, since the store had this one tall size, so someone must have returned it!  I love tops in tall size since they are longer!

We also had Emma's NICU follow up developmental appointment today, and it went pretty good.   They gave us some exercises to do with Emma to help her strengthen her lower legs.   They said it's pretty common with preemies to have a weaker lower leg.  Doc said that it's holding her back from crawling, so we get a series of things we gotta do with her as many times a day as possible. (Bicycle movements & massage the lower leg to name a few!)    So we got our homework cut out for us!  But thankfully she is doing very well especially for her adjusted age!  She is at her actual age for motor skill and language so they were very happy with how well she has done!  And of course she was a charmer giving away free smiles the whole time!

SWITCHING JACKETS

Monday, November 12, 2012

Wow! Another weekend flew by. I seriously think whoever came up with 5 days of work and 2 days off, was not thinking at the time. We need at least one more day off! Every weekend I wish I had just one more day to finish the stuff I did not get to over the weekend! Emma does something new every day. For the longest time I believed she will go straight to walking but she's been getting pretty close to crawling this past weekend so she might be mobile soon! She also started to sit up in her crib for the first time Saturday, and startled me as I walked in there! I'm not used to seeing my tiny preemie baby sitting up, trying to pull herself up to standing staring at me out of her crib! So I need to lower the mattress in the crib for sure, since now it's only a matter of time before she tries to climb out of it! Added to the list of things to do Thanksgiving week! (I'm taking the whole week off!!! Whoaaa)

Today's outfit is pretty much the same outfit I wore about two weeks ago, but instead of wearing it with a blazer I switched it to a denim jacket. On days when I don't have a whole lot of time in the morning something as simple as switching the jacket can be a quick way to create on outfit that you don't have to think a whole lot about.

BLACK & WHITE WITH A POP OF COLOR

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Oh my goodness! The really cold has arrived! This morning there was frost everywhere and I actually wore my wool winter-coat. It was freeeeezing! And tomorrow night we're suppose to get a bit of snow, I was sorta hoping the snow would hold out a little while longer, but since I got my new all wheel drive car little over a month ago, I'm not as afraid to drive in it. I've been really enjoying my new car, not sure I mentioned but I got a 2010 Volvo XC60, and it's great to have a car where everything works. My old car I had for 11 years and I had to yank the tank open with keys, and the trunk only opened sometimes, it was a bit of pain. But now my car even has heated seats! OMG let me tell you, I'm so totally loving the heated seats. Makes me wonder how did I live so long without them! And since this car has super duper high safety ratings I feel a little safer driving Emma around. Today's outfit is a sweater I scored at Express months ago, it's sorta cropped with a deep cowl neck and I paid only $7 for it! I love the pop of the berry color against the black and white rest of the outfit.

RED WHITE & BLUE CASUAL

Sunday, November 4, 2012

This weekend I'm really trying to get organized so I'm not scrambling around last minute for meals and such.  So the last two hours I spend chopping up veggies and sorting out our meal plan for the week.  I also made a whole bunch of home made baby good for my sweet little baby girl. We do buy the store stuff sometimes, but I don't 100% trust it.  Oh and let me tell you!  Finally Emma's personalty is starting to come out, and she is just awesome.  We went shopping yesterday and she is smiling, giggling and waving to everybody!  She is so friendly and outgoing! I love it & I'm so trying to find reasons to leave the house so I can show her off :).  I think this is my favorite phase so far, but it seems to just keep getting better (I know this sounds bad but I really didn't like the newborn phase!)

So this outfit might look a tad familiar to some of you.. it's actually the same exact outfit I wore in the GAP leather jacket post a few weeks back.  This is how I actually wore this outfit to one of my good friends daughters 1st birthday party.  It was comfortable which was huge considering I was lugging Miss Emma around and playing with her and a few other babies just slightly older than her.   As you guys see,  for the most part I stick to small more timeless jewelry.  I don't believe in splurging in expensive custom jewelry and very rarely will spend the money to do so.  Plus the reality of it is that those huge pieces of fashion jewelry don't really work with my life as a mommy.   It's uncomfortable and chances are Emma would mistake them for her personal toys and it would end up getting ripped off.  And as I mentioned before, I just simply prefer more dainty jewelry, and if you think about it, do we ever see celebrities with huge pieces out there?  Just saying!  Of course it looks great on others, but it's not for me!  What do you think?  Are you for the huge necklace trend?
