Saturday, December 29, 2012

So this Christmas I got a few of these items as gifts and a few I have bought on gift-cards I received!  As soon as I get a gift-card it's burning in my pocket, itching to be used! :) Surprisingly I didn't get any gift-cards to the LOFT, but got a few to the GAP!  Fine by me :)   I love every single one of these and you guys will see these items on the blog very frequently! CHRISTMAS DAY OUTFIT: FAUX FUR & BOWS

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was great and I loved every minute of it with Emma. We even woke up to a little dusting of snow on Christmas Morning!  Emma was actually quiet excited to be opening gifts, more than I thought she would be.  So it was really really fun!  She was totally pooped both days after opening the gifts and slept really well both nights.  Christmas present for mommy!  :)     She got SOOOOO many gifts, we're going to have to rent a storage unit pretty soon.   Her 1st birthday is in a couple of weeks and I can't imagine what else she can get!   I guess that is what happens when she is the first baby in about 15 years on both sides!     My Christmas day outfit was camel & red which is one of my all time favorite color combos for the holidays!

POLKA DOTS, A BOW & A BIT OF SHIMMER

Monday, December 24, 2012

There is no better time of the year to wear shimmery sparkly things than the holiday season!   I paired my metallic polka dot Gap jeans with a shimmery blouse & a metallic bow belt!   I'm wearing this to my mom's tonight, where we celebrate Christmas Eve.  We open our presents and it just a whole lot of fun!  Can't wait to see Emma ripping off wrapping paper.  My mom has really gone overboard with shopping for her.  She is the only baby in both of our families and the very first grandchild on both sides.  So needless to say she will be spoiled rotten!  Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas Eve tonight!

SHINY STARS & STRIPES

Saturday, December 22, 2012

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend! I'm busy today tying up all the loose ends for the holidays, few last minute gifts to wrap, a few errands to run & maybe some baking to do! :)   You guys may notice that sometimes I wear the same pants / boots for days in a row.  Yes it's true.   But let me tell you!  It sure saves me time when getting dressed & less laundry to do as well.   It's much easier to think of only the top part of your outfit then having to create a whole new outfit from scratch.  And it's especially totally OK when you are going to completely different places!   It's between me and you guys! Shhhhhh....

Today marks the first day of my 5 day weekend and we got a bit of running around to do! I choose to wear this comfy sweater from AE, but added a bit of sparkles by layering it with a sparkly embellished tank top underneath! It looks a bit more sparkly in real life, but could not capture in on pictures! But you guys will just have to believe me that the sparkling coming thru the loose knit sweater looks pretty cool. Don't forget to link up below!

OH CHRISTMAS TREE TEE

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Super duper excited today. I have a 5 day weekend coming up! It will be a bit busy with family but I don't mind. I love Christmas and spending time with our families. It's also extra exciting since it's Emma's first Christmas! Today I'm wearing my Christmas tree tee from Old Navy. I got it for $8 about two weeks ago. It's super sparkly and totally perfect for my last day of work before the holidays! Paired it with a maroon cardigan, since I didn't want to go too red/green. I love that color combo for house decorating, but for some reason I think it looks a little walking Christmas treeish when worn.  I also played around with the blog design a bit yesterday?  What do you guys think? Wearing my bow sweater yesterday inspired me to bow up the blog!

You know sometimes you see an item in flyer / catalog and you just gotta have it? Well this is one of those items for me. I literally checked the LOFT website for weeks to check to see it was in stock. Seriously. And the sweater didn't disappoint and I love it. It's not too fitted and nice long! Paired it with my GAP metallic polka dot jeans and my Miz Mooz boots!

PRAYING FOR NEWTOWN

Since Friday's horrific events, I haven't been able to think of much else.  I wonder how someone can do such heinous act. I wonder what would drive someone to hurt innocent children?  I just don't understand. Being a mom, I fear nothing more than loosing my baby, and can't imagine what some of those families are dealing with now.    I live about an our from that school, and needless to say our entire state in in shock.   You hear the same questions asked over and over again.  How can this happen in a nice town like Newtown?  People move there for the school systems, it's really a wonderful place to live.  I worked in Newtown, would have never in a million years thought something like this could happen there.  I have a friend who has two little girls that attend Sandy Hook Elementary.  I can't imagine rushing to that school wondering if your child is OK. (Her babies were safe). I pray for all those innocent children and teachers that senselessly lost their lives.   I hope their families can find some sort of closure, although I'm not sure it's possible.  Only time will tell.   Needless to say I spent the whole weekend hugging my baby girl & feeling blessed while my heart was aching for those who can't do the same.

OLD NAVY SHOPPING (MOSTLY BABY)

Sunday, December 16, 2012

So Old Navy was having a great sale for babies:  Buy 3 baby items and get the 4th one free. So I headed there because Miss Emma, needed some tops.  We have plenty of pants and onsies and holiday outfits, but have very few top/ tees.  So I picked up 4 tees for her for a grand total of $15.  I'm very pleased with the quality too, Old Navy has really improved their stuff lately!   I also bought myself the fox sweater & a Christmas tree tee, both which are sold out online, but were ample left at the store!   As I mentioned the other day if you love these critter sweaters from Old Navy, don't fall for the eBay seller's way overpriced listings.  Just head to your local Old Navy, they had tons of it!   Once I got home, I decided to browse online for a bit and ordered a few more things for Emma! Could not beat the sale price with the additional 30% off on top.   One great thing about having the GAP/Old Navy / BR card is that no matter how small my order is, I get free shipping & free returns.   I seriously ordered $3 baby leggings in the past and got free shipping!  Def. one store credit card that is worth having, but only if you can pay it off in full every month!   Now that I have ran out of all my baby shower gifts for baby Emma, all the clothes and stuff she needs does add up a bit!  I was spoiled by all the gifts I received for her at my showers!  I think we will be doing lots more shopping for her at Old Navy in the future, as she grows out of things like crazy now!

On a completely unrelated note, just want to tell you guys that I'm very flattered on the requests that I got about my hair routine / makeup and trying to figure out how to post it all!  My routine is actually quiet simple, and I'm certain most of you guys do a way better job.  But just wanted to mention it so those who requested don't feel like I'm ignoring you!  I have a few long weekends coming up around the holidays so hopefully will have some time to put it together :)  You can buy all these and more at HERE AT OLD NAVY.COM.

HAPPY HAPPY POLKA DOTTED FRIDAY & LINK UP

Friday, December 14, 2012

I'm so totally excited that it's Friday! This weekend I'm planning on catching up on a lot of things! For one, I must send my Christmas cards for sure. We're also planning to visit some home improvement stores and pick out some tiles for our bathroom that is in process of being renovated. (well for now it's just completely ripped out!). We had a leak and the whole bathroom got ruined, and of course it was our only bathroom with a bathtub! (Don't worry, it was a very old bathroom, like EVERYTHING was blue including the sink & toilet!) We been giving Emma a bath in a baby bathtub in the middle of our living room, but now she is splashing so much that it's getting too messy and it will end up ruining our newly finished hardwood floors. So this is some motivation for us to get movin' on it! Today's outfit is actually what I plan on wearing out & about this weekend. Comfortable, causal & polka dotted! Hope you all have a great weekend and don't forget to link up below!

Oh and I want to tell you guys that you know those Old Navy critter sweaters they have with the owl / fox / lamb? Well don't buy it on eBay. Way overpriced! I went to my local old navy and they had tons of it. I mean tons of it and it's on sale for $15! Some of these crazy eBay sellers are trying to sell it for $50 plus! Nuts!! Nuts!! Nuts!!!

LOFT CLEARANCE PICKS & A FEW ITEMS FROM MACY'S

Thursday, December 13, 2012

So one of my favorite stores is having a great clearance sale! Until this morning at 10AM they were having extra 60% off sale prices. While pumping this morning ( I know TMI) I ended up ordering a few (correction: way too many) items.  My grand total came to $137, after taxes and all, but I got tons of stuff for it.   Here is what I picked up!  Right now you can still get extra 50% off the sale prices.   But I wanted to make sure I shared with you guys what I got in case you are interested!  Happy Shopping!  And just like I will be going on a food diet after the holidays, I'm gone have to put myself on a shopping diet too.

I also had a gift card left for Macy's from my birthday back in May that I finally used to grab a few things!  Here is what I got.

LOFT MAROON RUFFLE TANK & KNIT BLAZER

Today's outfit is another one that works well if your like me and been over indulging in the yummy office holiday food! Every single day someone is bringing in pies, cookies and all sort of homemade goodies. And what am I to do? I mean I can't be rude and decline it or anything like that ;). I've been eating so much food that my stomach could be mistaken for a 4 month baby bump (which I can reassure you it's not). These ruffly shirts are perfect for that. Does not create much bulk but hides what doesn't need to be seen. Right after the holidays though I'm going back to my healthy diet, but right now there is just so much yumminess all around me, and I have ZERO willpower! Are you guys doing better than me with all this food around?   How do you keep yourself from piggin' out?

LOFT BLANKET STRIPE PONCHO

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

I'm absolutely in love with this Poncho from the LOFT. It was a great price, and so soft and comfortable. Surprisingly it has no wool! Which is huge plus for me since I'm pretty sensitive to wool. Love the stripe pattern too. It's great for those days when you don't want to wear anything too tight fitting. I've already gotten a few wears out of this sweater. I did see that LOFT came out with a lighter version of this on their website, which I think is just as pretty!  Although I do think the darker one is a bit more practical and versatile with a messy 11 month old!  :)  I really should have cut that white tag off huh?

It takes me a long time because I go crazy with the decorating and load the tree with so many ornaments, you would think it's not possible! Scroll down to the bottom if you care about my bummy outfit details!   I do love the bright scarf that I picked up online on Black Friday from the GAP!! So fun!
